September 24th will always be the special day for Stumbras Football Club as exactly on this day Stumbras for the first time in history won Lithuanian Cup. On Sunday Kaunas side 1:0 won against favorites Žalgiris Vilnius and guaranteed place in UEFA Europa league qualification next season.

Both teams were fighting all 90 minutes long, but not too many chances were created. Most of the shots went off target and it was clear that one goal can be decisive. None of the teams were trying to risk and go forward too much but it was Stumbras who took the lead on 84th minute. Vilius Armanavičius made great pass to Nasro Bouchareb who won his battle versus goalkeeper – 1:0!

In the remaining time Stumbras managed to secure victory and that was it! Lithuanian Cup now belongs to Stumbras!
